In June 2018, the PEACE SOFAS were the focal point of an art installation in MuseumsQuartier, the goal of which was to encourage dialog concerning society’s increasing polarization.
These Peace Sofas, which are now being sold in a charity auction at https://www.dorotheum.com/en/dailyauction/list-lots/auktion/13432-peace-sofas.html?currentPage=1#lot-2438774, are made up of two joined halves. These contrasting halves represent contrary opinions on topics of polarization.
Conversations between people with varying opinions took place on these sofas. These dialogues between the two interlocutors were filmed.
This video documents the Peace Sofas in action.
The entirety of the auction proceeds will benefit ennd.eu. The network seeks to halt the increasing polarization of society through conferences, trainings and events across Europe.
